Agritourism has become a significant sector in La Union, blending agriculture with tourism to provide visitors with unique experiences on farms. La Union pursues establishing the province as the heart of agri-tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. This descriptive-quantitative research study assessed the: 1) contributions of agritourism farms to operators and practitioners; 2) challenges encountered; and 3) initiatives implemented for their sustainability. Data were gathered from five (5) farm operators, 124 farm practitioners, and nine (9) stakeholders using a questionnaire, informal interviews, and document review. Findings reveal that La Union's agritourism farms have land sizes ranging from 3,000 to 6,999 hectares, with peak activity from April to June. Despite economic benefits like family employment and increased revenue, La Union's agritourism sector contends with financial and technical hurdles, as well as policy and infrastructure limitations. The study formulated a policy brief to address maintenance charges, enhance sustainability, and ensure economic viability.
