Hydroelectric plant produces hydropower, a form of renewable energy by using the-water stored in dams, converting the potential energy into electricity by means of turbine generators. The study determined the optimal operation of the turbine generator units,-which is the most economical in generating power in terms of water usage, and formulated an equation model. Descriptive-causal comparative design was used, with actual data extracted from San Roque Dam, having three identical turbine generators of same specifications and commissioning date. Findings show that unit 2 is the most economical in terms of water utility rate, followed by unit 3. Though with very little to no significant difference in terms of water utilization rate, an optimal model equation was formulated and is valid to all hydro turbine generator units, and is applicable to conserve water when inflow is minimal, particularly in the month of December to May the following year.
