dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to determine the duration of protective efficacy of the different concentration of neem leaf extract lotion against mosquitoes and to determine the most effective concentration of neem leaf extract lotion that repel mosquitoes. The various formulation of neem leaf extract lotion were tested on thirty white rats distributed in five treatments replicated thrice with two rats per treatment following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Data were statistically analyzed using Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The lotion (30%, 45% and 60%) repelled mosquitoes at various length of time however, sixty percent concentration was the most effective in repelling mosquitoes for 9.33 hours significantly longer than the two lower concentrations.
