Abstract
The study was conducted to evaluate the performance of broilers supplemented with different levels of molasses (20 ml, 40 ml, and 60ml) on the drinking water. This was conducted at the Poultry Project of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union from November 20, 2009 to December 24, 2009. Using the Complete Randomized Design (CRD), a total of sixty day-old chicks were randomly distributed into four treatments with three (3) replications. The result of the study revealed that birds supplemented with 20 ml to 40 ml of molasses on their drinking water were comparable to the birds without molasses on their drinking water in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption and feed conversion efficiency. The 40 ml to 60 ml of molasses per gallon of water resulted to increase the volume of water consumption of the birds. Moreover, a 60 ml molasses per gallon of water resulted to a decrease on the profit.
