Abstract
Due to the high cost of commercial feeds poultry raising find ways to source not alternative sources of feedstuffs. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the performance of broiler supplemented with different levels (5%, 10%,15%) of ampalaya leaf meal employing Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD).The study was conducted from November 14, 2014 to December 19, 2014 at DMMMSU Poultry-Project Bacnotan, La Union A total of sixty-five 14-day old broiler chicks were randomly distributed into four treatments, following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three blocks.
The result of the study showed that the performance of birds fed with Ampalaya Leaf meal were comparable to those fed with pure broiler starter mash in terms in of final weight, gain in weight and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost. However, the feed consumption and feed conversion ratio of broilers fed with 15% ampalaya leaf meal were significantly lower were more efficient than those fed with pure broiler starter mash.
