Callus regeneration is an effective way of generating multiple explants in tissue culture especially for crops like garlic that have low multiplication rate using shoot-tips. Understanding the best culture media for callus regeneration can be an important factor to improve shoot production. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the effect of different culture media in the regeneration of callus and the capability of the shoots to form bulblets. Three culture media were used: LS medium + 1.79mg IAA + 2.3mg BA, SH medium + 2mg 2iP + 0.5mg NAA, B5 medium + 2mg 2iP + 0.5mg NAA. The study showed that callus can regenerate in all media used. However, B5 supplements with 2iP and NAA as culture media produced to more shoots (8.57), and number of shoots that produced bulb (5.82).
