Abstract
Rooting hormones are plant growth substances that are applied to influence root
formation in cuttings. This will increase the chance of successful plant rooting in most
cases. Hence, this study on the different kinds of rooting hormone (i.e., ANAA, ANAA plus
GA3, ANAA plus Seaweed liquid, ANAA plus Coconut water, ANAA plus GA3 plus
Seaweed liquid, ANAA plus GA3 plus Coconut water, ANAA plus GA3 plus Coconut water
plus Seaweed liquid, GA3, GA3 plus Seaweed liquid, GA3 plus Coconut water, GA3 plus
Seaweed liquid plus Coconut water, Seaweed, Seaweed plus Coconut water and Coconut
water) was conducted employing the RCBD in four blocks. The study was conducted at
the citrus project of the DMMMSU-NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union from November 28, 2015
to February 28, 2016.
Based on the findings of the study, results disclosed that marcotted pummelo treated with ANAA formed callus the earliest (17.20 days). With regard to root initiation, marcotted pummelo treated with GA3 but comparable with ANAA treated plants. In terms of number of roots, marcotted pummelo treated with ANAA significantly produced the most number of roots (13.80 roots). The longest roots, were from plants treated with ANAA (4.30). Marcotted pummelo treated with ANAA and those treated with ANAA plus GA3 obtained the highest percentage success while on survival rate, marcotted pummelo treated with ANNA and GA3 obtained the highest.
