dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to Evaluate the DMMMSU – Bacnotan LGU Hog Breeding Dispersal Project. Data were drawn from the 117 respondents from 32 selected barangays in Bacnotan, La Union. Respondents were engaged in crop farming and eventually included animal raising as their main sources of income. Experienced an increase in family income when they availed the project, personal savings was their source of capital and eventually purchased home appliances, gadgets and farm machinery. On production practices: feeding at least once a day, dry, controlled feeding system with adlibitumwater, vaccination, deworming and medication was practiced. On marketing: Liveweight basis was used in pricing and promotion by word of mouth. High cost of commercial feed was consideredhigh serious problem. Theproject improves family savings thus uplifting the quality of life of the recipient, eventually develops human and public relations, social and moral values andfood securityto the community.
