Abstract
White potato is one of the staple food crops in our country usually planted in
highlands with cool months. Potato tuber is one of the popular profitable cash crop
which may be planted after rice in the lowlands (Ilocos). Hence, this study was conducted to determine the most adaptable potato tuber varieties under Ilocos condition. ‘Queen Elizabeth’, ‘Ganza’, ‘Muziranzara’, ‘Raniag’ and ‘Igorota’, were planted from December 04, 2016- March 10, 2017 which has relatively low temperature months during the dry season. The Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three blocks was employed.
Based on the research findings, the Raniag variety and Ganza variety were the
most adaptable in Ilocos condition which produced more number and weight of
marketable potato tuber per plant, and gave the highest gross income and net income.
There were no significant differences on plant height and weight of non-marketable
tubers among varieties.
