This study aimed to enhance the Iluko language proficiency of Grade 1 pupils in Elementary Laboratory School North La Union Campus through Picture Walk. The respondents of this study were 14 Grade 1 pupils of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University North La Union Campus Elementary Laboratory School. A developed teacher-made test was used to determine the Iluko Language Proficiency before and after the intervention. Mean, Pearson, and T-test were used in the computation of the data gathered. Based from the findings the researchers have drawn the following conclusions: (1.) The pupils performed under below basic level before the intervention. (2.) The result of the post-test is under the highly proficient level. This finding showed that the use of picture walk in telling a story was effective in enhancing the Iluko language proficiency of the respondents. (3.) There is significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test. Therefore, the picture walk is a very effective strategy in enhancing the Iluko language proficiency of Grade 1 pupils. Based on the conclusions, the researchers recommend the following: 1.) (for teachers) Diagnostic test should be conducted by the teachers to determine the strength and weaknesses of their pupils. Teachers should also prepare varied activities that fit the abilities and needs of the pupils. It’s also recommended to the teachers to attend seminars and trainings about regarding strategies in enhancing their Iluko language proficiency as well as their teaching proficiency. Picture walk strategy is highly recommended to be maximized in teaching mother tongue. 2.) (for parents) Talking to their children using their mother tongue is one of the major recommendations for the parents to enhance the Iluko language proficiency of their children. Parents should let their children watch, read and listen to Iluko language stories. 3.) (for learners) Pupils should maximize reading, watching and listening to Iluko stories. Pupils are also encouraged to talk to their peers, family and teachers using the Iluko language. Pupils should also set good study habits.
