dc.description.abstractOne way of reducing the cost of feed in broiler raising is supplementation using feedstuff like malunggay leaf meal. Reports disclosed that malunggay is rich in biologically useful nutrients. The study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers fed with different levels of malunggay leaf meal (5%, 10 %, 15%) as feed extender to broiler rations. It was conducted at the Poultry Project of he Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, College of Agriculture, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union from October 15 to November 21, 2008. Sixty 14-day old broiler chicks were used in the study employing the RCBD in three blocks. Results of the study revealed that birds fed with rations containing 5% malunggay leaf meal performed significantly better than those birds fed with rations containing 10% and 15% malunggay leaf meal terms of final weight, gain in weight and feed conversion efficiency but comparable to the control birds, The profit above feed, medicine and stock cost of birds fed 5% and 10% malunggay leaf meal were comparable to the control birds.
