Abstract
This study was conducted to: (1) determine the occurrence of Brucella of goats in Ilocos Norte; (2) determine the goats affected with Brucella considering age in Ilocos Norte; and (3) determine the goats affected with Brucella considering sex in Ilocos Norte. This was conducted in eleven (11) randomly selected towns in Ilocos Norte during the months of September to October, 2004. Eighty-eight goats were used in the study with age and sex considered. Blood samples were aseptically collected via the jugular vein. The serum was separated from the blood samples and subjected to Rose Bengal test. Result of the study revealed that goats in Ilocos Norte reacted positively to Brucella test and had a mean percentage of 5.68. Young and adult goats had insignificant difference on the rate of infection of Brucella. T-Test revealed that female goats had significantly higher rate of infection of Brucella than in male goats.
