dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to determine the effect of flooding and alternate wet and dry irrigations on two varieties of rice (Oryza sativa) during dry season. Specifically, it aimed to: a) to determine the effects of flooding and alternate wet and dry irrigation on two varieties of rice, and b) determine the interaction effect of irrigation and variety that will give the highest yield. This study was conducted at Sipulo, Bacnotan, La Union from November 2016 to February 2017. Sixteen thousand eight hundred seedlings were used in this study. The experimental area was laid-out using Split-Plot in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two (2) factors replicated three (3) times. Data gathered were tabulated and analyzed using Statistical Tool for Agricultural Research (STAR). The result of the study showed that the heaviest fresh and sun-dried weight of rice can be attained at irrigation A1 (Flooded) and rice variety B2 (PHB79) with 8083.33 kg and 7416.67 kg, respectively.
