Organic farming is an environment-friendly approach to food security and food safety. Vermicompost and vermitea has been reported as excellent nutrient source for plants growth and development. Intercropping on the other hand is another approach to food security. Hence, this study on vermitea as supplement to vermicompost for honey corn intercropped with mungbean was conducted employing the RCB factorial design in three blocks. The study was conducted at the Citrus Project of the DMMMSU-NLUC, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union from November 14, 2012 to February 5, 2013. Based on the results of the study, application of 1kg vermicompost per linear meter with or without vermitea supplement have comparable effects on the yield of honey corn and mungbean. On the frequency of vermicompost and application, vermitea 1-3 x a week had similar effects on the growth and yield of honey corn intercropped with mungbean. Results, moreover, did not show any significant treatment combination effects on the growth and yield of honey corn and mungbean as intercrop.
