Adviser: Laquidan, Arnelie G., Ph. D. In the Philippines, many Filipinos struggled with their financial literacy. Financial literacy plays an important role because an individual holds the responsibility for financial security in their life including the business. The objective of this study was to determine the financial literacy of market stall owners in the public market of Bacnotan, La Union using purposive-homogenous sampling, 55 market stall owners were selected in the public market of Bacnotan La Union. The results showed that the market stall owners are highly literate in terms of saving behavior, they are educated in planning and saving their income considering the necessities and expenses. The level of financial management of the market stall owners is also highly literate. However, they need to develop their management in debt and planning retirement and estate. Based on the findings the respondents spend their money easily without rationalizing the consequences.
