Abstract
The study sought to find out how the farmers experienced and managed their
stress. The descriptive research design using stratified random sampling technique was
used. Employing a constructive questionnaire, 150 respondents were requested on their
profile, stress experienced and stress management techniques. Statistical tools used were
frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, average weighted mean and Pearson
Product Moment Correlation Coefficient using Statistical Package for Social Sciences
(SPSS).
Findings of the study revealed that most of the respondents are within the age
bracket of 41-60, married, have no child to 3 children, high school graduate, with a
monthly family income of Php3000. 00 and below, more than 13years engaged infarming
and mostly were using chemicals. They seldom experienced the physical, psychological,
social and economic stresses, however, they often managed these type of problems. There
existed a significant relationship between profile and the stress experienced along with
profile and stress management techniques of these farmers.
