| dc.description.abstract | Tomato plants can face problems in saline soil which can affect the yield and overall growth of the plant. In recent years, there has been a growing global interest in the use of biofertilizers. This trend is driven by the increasing demand for environmentally friendly agricultural practices, especially in areas facing soil degradation such as salinity. This study was conducted to assess the effect of MykoPlus and BioGroe application in saline affected soils on the growth and yield of tomato as well as the chemical properties of saline soil. This study was conducted at Barangay Sinapangan Norte, Balaoan, La Union from August 2024 to May 2025. The treatments used are as follows: T0- No Application, T1- 100% Recommended Rate, T2- 50% Recommended Rate + Myko Plus, T3- 50% Recommended Rate + BioGroe, T4- 50% Recommended Rate + MykoPlus + BioGroe, T5- MykoPlus, T6- BioGroe and were laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. The results revealed that there is a significant difference among treatments on plant height at 60 DAT and leaf area index whereas tomato plants applied with 100% Recommended Rate (T1) recorded the highest at 162.15 cm and 22.28 cm2, respectively. Also, tomato plants applied with 100% Recommended Rate (T1), 50% Recommended Rate + MykoPlus + BioGroe (T4), and MykoPlus (T5) obtained the highest stem diameter at 60 DAT at 9.56 mm, 9.23 mm, and 8.96 mm, respectively. Furthermore, tomato plants applied with 50% Recommended Rate + BioGroe (T3) obtained the highest yield at 4.98 kg. Saline soil applied with No Application (T0) obtained the highest residual phosphorus at 7.00 mg/kg. Meanwhile, no significant difference among treatments were observed on plant height and stem diameter at 30 DAT, days to 50% flowering, fruit diameter, soil electrical conductivity, soil pH, and soil organic matter. | |
