Abstract
Mungbean(Vigna radiate L.) is a potential source of feed for broiler as feed
extender;hence, this study was conducted to determine the performance of broiler fed
with different levels of mungbean treated with molasses (5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) as
feed extender and to determine the effectiveness of using mungbean treated with molasses to broiler ratio.
It was conducted from November 29, 2015 to January 3, 2016 at Barangay Nalasin, Balaoan, La Union. A total of seventy five heads 14-days old broiler chicks were
randomly distributed into five treatments, following the Randomized Complete Block
Design (RCBD) with three blocks.
The results of the study revealed that the birds fed with different levels ofmungbean treated with molasses performed comparably with the birds fed with pure broiler crumble in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost.
