dc.description.abstractThis research focuses on developing an Automated Saltwater Crystallization System (ASCS) to address these issues. The ASCS was designed to optimize the crystallization process through controlled heating and mechanical processes. The study aims to design, fabricate, and evaluate the ASCS's technical performance, particularly in terms of production rate, time, and machine efficiency. A comprehensive cost and return analysis is included to assess its economic viability, addressing metrics such as break even points, payback periods, and benefit cost ratio. Results indicate that the ASCS can enhance local salt production, mitigate environmental impacts, and improve resilience against climate challenges like La NiƱa which revealed a break-even point of 187.172 kg/year, a payback period of 170 days, and a benefit-cost ratio of 1.03. This innovation demonstrates the potential to revitalize the Philippine salt industry, ensuring sustainable production and reducing dependency on imports.
