| dc.description.abstract | Due to high cost of feeds, this study was conducted to determine the performance of broiler fed with pure broiler starter mash against those fed with canistel seed meal ration (5%, 10% and 15% CSM) as feed extender. This was conducted at Barangay Nagatiran, Bacnotan, La Union from November 31 to December 5, 2015. A total of 60 heads 14-day-old broiler chicks were distributed randomly in four treatments following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three blocks. Results of the study showed that birds fed with 5% canistel seed meal performed comparably with the birds fed with pure broiler starter crumble in terms of final weight, gain in weight and feed consumption. Birds fed with 5% and 10% canistel seed meal were comparable with birds fed with pure broiler starter crumble in terms of feed conversion ratio and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost. Birds fed with 15% canistel seed meal significantly registered the poorest performance in all the parameters. | |
