dc.description.abstractThis study assessed the level of effectiveness in the procurement process of barangay captains and supply officers of the municipality of Tagudin. Specifically, it determined the level of effectiveness in terms of transparency, accountability, equity, efficiency, and economy. Likewise, the degree of seriousness of the problems encountered by the barangay captains was determined. A descriptive research method was used in the study, using survey questionnaires. It utilized structured and closed-ended survey questionnaires as an instrument for gathering data. Cronbach's Alpha was utilized to determine the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. The researcher used frequency counts, percentages and weighted means to analyze the data gathered. The study showed that (a) most of the barangay captains and supply officers in the Municipality of Tagudin are male, they are old age, and college graduates who have more experience and wisdom, making them better equipped to handle the complexities involved in the procurement process; (b) The barangay captains were highly effective in involved in the procurement process because they know that public funds must be used wisely and transparently to deliver quality services to their constituents while ensuring transparency in all transactions; and (c) The identified problems encountered are moderately seriously because there is a need for more transparency in allocating and utilizing funds. In sum, there is a need to develop a policy implication to guide the procurement process of barangay captains and supply officers in the Municipality of Tagudin.
