It was in 2012 that indigenous tree species were prioritized for propagation. Relative to this, MC 2012-01 was launched coming from the Philippine Department of Environment and Natural resources emphasizing that indigenous tree species are to be preferred to be planted in protected areas, protection forests, mangroves and urban areas. One of the native species is kupang. The study was conducted to determine the response of kupang wildlings on the root pruning and watering frequencies in terms of growth and survival under nursery conditions at the Agroforestry Nursery, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University- North La Union Campus from December 28, 2021 to April 06, 2022. The treatments used were the following: Factor A- (A0) Root Pruning (no root pruning),(A1) 5cm, (A2)7cm, (A3)10cm and Factor B- watering frequencies (B0)every day, (B1)every other day, (B2)every after two days. Result of the study showed no significant effects of root pruning in the height, number of leaves, initial and final diameter, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, root-shoot ratio and survival percentage on the response of kupang wildlings. Watering frequencies showed no significant effects on the height, number of leaves, initial and final diameter, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, root: shoot ratio and survival percentage on the response of kupang wildlings. Result further showed no significant effects on the interaction of root pruning and watering frequency on the height, number of leaves, shoot diameter, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, root-shoot ratio and survival percentage of kupang wildlings.
