dc.description.abstractThe study was conducted at the Department of Agricultural Engineering, DMMMSU-NLUC from November 2014 to February 2015 for the Design, Construction and Performance Evaluation of Auger Type Calamansi Juice Extractor Machine. The design was constructed for continuous operation. Three treatments were used to evaluate the machine. The performance evaluation of the machine was carried out on calamansi extractor. The time of use for loading, extraction, and volume of juice extracted was measured in order to determine the input capacity, extraction rate, extraction recovery, extraction efficiency, and total operating time of the machine. The extraction efficiency of the machine in terms of the volume of juice obtained is 77.62 %. The total expense in fabricating the machine is seven thousand, two hundred five pesos and sixty centavos (Php 7,205.60). Operating cost per year with one person operating the machine is Php 54, 720.00. The annual net income is Php 164, 381.59 and the payback period is 2 months.
