In order to assess the effect of molybdenum, an element required for the nodulation of legumes, as seed priming agent in the growth and yield of mungbean (var. Pag- asa 7), this study was conducted at Calungbuyan, Balaoan, La Union from November 26, 2015 to February 07, 2016 involving five treatments (To – control (no soaking),T1 – distilled water, T2 – 1 mg sodium molybdate/liter H2O, T3 – 2 mg sodium molybdate/liter H2O, T4 – 3 mg sodium molybdate/liter H2O) employing RCBD in four blocks. Based on the findings of the study, mungbean seeds soaked with water were the earliest to emerged (2.00 DAP) but the latest to flower (35.50 DAP) and mature (59.75 DAP). However, seeds soaked on 3mg molybdate were the latest to emerge (3.00 days) but the earliest to mature (58.25 days), had produce the most number of nodules (31.85) and pods (10.50) and obtained the heaviest in terms of seed yield (1218.75g/plot or 1625.00 kg/ha). There were no significant differences on the percent germination (83.25% to 89.5%), plant height (54.12cm to 58.87cm), length of pods (9.27cm to 9.92 cm), number of seeds per pod (12.13 to 12) and weight of 100 seeds (8.5g to 9.25g).
