Frontline service providers of any office meet the client’s first¬ hand issues, inquiries and services. Employees of Government Owned and/or Controlled Corporations (GOCC) are not exempted from having stress in their work because they provide frontline services to people as part of their advocacy for good public service. This study aimed to determine the stress coping mechanisms of the frontline service employees among GOCC in the City of San Fernando, La Union. It was a descriptive-correlational research utilizing survey method through questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentages, weighted mean, Kendal’s Tau B and Pearson Product Moment of Correlation. Findings show that they sometimes experienced the effect of organizational and non-organizational stressors. They affirm that biological, psychological and behavioral stress coping mechanisms are moderately effective to reducing stress. There is significant relationship between profile and stressors, effects of stress and stress coping mechanisms.
