dc.description.abstractContinuous rise in the cost of feeds affect the local broiler production. Hence this study on the use of tamarind leaf meal was conducted to determine the best level of tamarind leaf meal at 5%, 10%, 15% for broiler ration that can trim down the cost of feeds. Sixty,14- days old broiler chicks were used in the study and randomly distributed into four dietary treatments following the RCBD in three blocks; the experiment was conducted at Casiaman, Bacnotan La Union from November 15 to December 20, 2015. Based on the result of the study broiler fed with different levels of tamarind leaf meal at 5%, 10%, 15% were statistically comparable to those birds fed with pure broiler starter crumble in terms of final weight and gain in weight, and feed conversion ratio. The inclusion of tamarind leaf meal from 10% to 15% level insignificantly reduced the feed consumption of broilers.
