Abstract
This study aimed to delve into the political participation of the Bago Tribe of Pugo, La Union and to discover the challenges faced by the Bago Tribe in terms of their political participation. A mixed method approach was utilized in this study. There were three hundred (300) respondents and five (5) key informants. Findings revealed the extent of political participation of the Bago Tribe garnering an overall mode of three (3) with a descriptive rating of moderate participation, which implies that the Bago Tribe are frequently participating in political activities; challenges faced by the Bago Tribe includes cultural discrimination, misconception of identity, and lack of cooperation and initiative. Finally, this study came up with a proposed Information Education Communication (IEC) material that will provide better understanding of the Bago Tribe's extent of political participation as well as incorporating the challenges faced by the tribe.
