| dc.description.abstract | Proper adoption of tillage systems is an important factor that controls crop growth and yield. Therefore, a field study employing Randomized Complete Block Design with four blocks was conducted to evaluate the effect of tillage systems (conventional tillage, minimum tillage and zero tillage) on the performance of mungbean at the Agricultural Technology Center Farm of DMMMSU-NLUC Bacnotan, La Union from November 23, 2015 to February 19, 2016. The study showed that mungbean planted in minimum tillage system performed comparably with mungbean planted in conventional tillage system in terms of number of days to emergence, flowering, maturity, plant height, survival rate, number of pods per plant and seed yield per plot. Mungbean planted in zero tillage system were last to emerge, flower, mature, and obtained the shortest plant height, least survival rate, produced the least number of pods and lowest yield. There were no significant differences observed on the length of the pods, seeds per pod and weight of 100 seed of mungbean. | |
