Abstract
High cost of commercial feeds prompted duck raisers to look for alternative sources of feed like banana pseudo-stem. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the performance of muscovy duck fed with different levels of banana pseudo-stem (20%,40%,60%). Furthermore, it was conducted to determine best level of banana pseudo-stem and its profitability. A total of forty-eight day-old muscovy ducks were used in the study. All data gathered has been interpreted using the analysis of variance in Randomized Complete Block Design. Comparison among the treatment means were further analyzed using least significant difference. This study was conducted in Pideg, Tubao, La Union from April 20, 2022 to June 20, 2022. Feed and water were supplemented in ad libitum basis. The results of the study showed positive direct effect in final weight, feed consumption, gain weight and total feed consumption. The use of 20% banana pseudo stem resulted in a comparable final weight, gain in weight and profit feed, medicine, and stock cost of the birds with that of pure commercial feed.
