The continuous rise in the cost of antibiotic affects local broiler producers. Hence, this study on the use of oregano as an alternative medicine was conducted to find out the effect of oregano decoction (5%, 10% and 15%) on 60 broiler chicks employing the RCBD replicated three times. This was conducted at the Poultry Project of NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union from December 11, 2009 to January 15, 2010. Results revealed that birds with oregano decoction showed comparable performance in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion efficiency and profit above feed, medicine oregano and stock cost to birds in the control treatment. However, birds with no oregano decoction have highly significant result lower water consumption, compared to the bird given with vetracin.
