Abstract
This study aimed to determine the growth and yield of pole bean intercrop with calamansi fertilized with Bio-N. It was conducted at the Calamansi Project located at the Agroforestry Research and Demonstration Farm (ARDF), Institute of Agroforestry and Watershed Management, DMMMSU-NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union, from June 16 to September 18, 2009. It was laid out using the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) replicated three times with the treatments as follows: T₀ = Control (no fertilization application), T₁ = BSR (Bureau of Soil Recommendation), T₂ = Bio-N corn, T₃ = Bio-N rice, T₄ = Bio-N corn + 50% BSR, T₅ = Bio-N rice + 50% BSR. The finding of this study revealed no significant effects of Bio-N fertilization on the number of green pods per hill, length of green pods per hill, and weight of pods per hill, per plot, per hectare, net income and biomass production. However, pole bean applied with Bio-N corn + 50% BSR produced the highest in terms of weight of pods per hill, per plot, per hectare and consequently the highest net income, hence, it is recommended.
