dc.description.abstractThis study presents the challenges faced by DMMMSU COM student-boarders. It sought to determine the profile and level of challenges faced by the DMMMSU COM student-boarders and formulate strategies and initiatives based from the results. The profile of the respondents was analyzed using frequency counts and percentage. To determine the level of challenges, median was employed. Findings revealed that the DMMMSU COM student-boarders are female, full-time students renting near the school, were all beneficiaries of CHED free higher education and belong to low-income families. They are facing challenges in terms of psychological and emotional distress and financial management. Strategies and initiatives have been formulated to enhance and address the challenges faced by the respondents which could help and guide the community, learning institutions, business owners, parents, and the student boarders.
