Abstract
The use of probiotic is being promoted by manufacturers to improve digestibility of feeds. Hence, this study on the use of 2% Lactic Acid Bacteria Serum (LABS) as supplement to commercial feed was conducted from November 7, 2012 to January 7, 2013 at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Piggery Project Bacnotan, La Union. Twenty crossbred weanlings were used in the study. They were distributed into two treatments with ten replications following the lay-out for t-test. The data gathered were analyzed using t-test. Result of the study revealed that the performance of the pigs given 2% Lactic Acid Bacteria Serum as supplement performed comparably with the pigs fed with pure commercial feed in terms of final weight, average daily gain in weight, feed conversion ration and profit above feed, stock and lactic acid bacteria serum cost.
