One possible way to reduce the cost of producing weaners is through devising effective and efficient feeding scheme. Hence, this study aimed to evaluate the three feeding schemes i.e. T1 – pre-starter 60 days; T2 – Pre-starter for 30 days + starter for 30 days; and T3 – Starter for 60 days on the performance of 18 heads of 35 days old weaners and replicated three times in CRD. This was conducted at the Piggery Project of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union from August 21 to October 21, 2006. The result of the study revealed that the different feeding schemes significantly affected the feed consumption and profit above feeds, medicine, and stock cost of the weaners. However, all the pigs performed comparably in terms of bi-weekly weight, final weight, gain in weight and feed conversion efficiency.
