Abstract
The development of Automated Traffic Management System for Road Works is for the purpose of creating an alternative and automated way to control traffic flow in road construction sites. Developmental and descriptive-evaluative research designs were used in this study. The Automated Traffic Management System for Road Works was designed and developed in accordance to the concepts and specifications. The device underwent an evaluation to test' the level of technical performance through a validated questionnaire. The study was evaluated by 4 expert evaluators and 6 end users. Findings indicated that Arduino Uno microcontroller, ultrasonic sensors and relays are the essential components in the design of the device; that the design of the device was feasible using Arduino Uno microcontroller and Arduino IDE, open software for microcontroller; that testing and revising of the device was made possible using different electronic measuring tools and equipment such as multimeter, relay, and digital trainer. Based on the evaluation, the device's level of technical feasibility, the level of economic/financial viability, the level of environmental soundness, the level of political acceptability, and the level of social acceptability were within the descriptive range of very high.
