Abstract
The continuous rise in the cost of medicines such as antibiotics adversely affects local broiler producers. Hence, this study on the use of yellow ginger decoction (15%, 30%, and 45%) was conducted. Sixty broiler chicks were used and distributed in four treatments following RCBD in three blocks. The experiment was conducted at Sta. Rita Bacnotan, La Union from November 15, 2014 to December 20, 2014. Results revealed that birds given with yellow ginger decoction showed comparable performance in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, and feed conversion ratio. However, birds with 15,30,45ml yellow ginger decoction in their drinking water recorded comparable profit but significantly higher than the birds given vetracin (control).
