| dc.description.abstract | The study was conducted to determine the effect of rootstock diameter and shading intensity on the growth of inarched Rambutan seedlings. The study was laid-out following the Split Plot Design with three blocks. The treatments under mainplot were shading intensity (Shaded and Unshaded) while the treatments under Subplot were the different rootstock diameter. The effect of shading intensity on the rambutan height during the first month to third month of the study revealed various outcomes. On the first month, unshaded inarched Rambutan seedlings had the tallest height with a mean of 59.46cm but were comparable on the succeeding observations. Number of leaves were significantly affected by shading intensity on the 30dap and 90dap month and sturdiness quotient on the 30dap only. Rootstock diameter insignificantly affect the growth of inarched Rambutan seedlings in terms of plant height, number of leaves, sturdiness quotient and percentage survival (88.92-100%). No significant interaction found between shading intensity and rootstock diameter all throughout the duration of the study on all the growth parameters used. Shaded inarched Rambutan seedlings with bigger diameter (8-9.9) is recommended for better growth and percentage survival. | |
