| dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted to evaluate the varietal performance of Bell Pepper intercropped with Guyabano trees as applied with organic fertilizers. A split plot design field experiment was employed with four replications to determine the growth, yield and field performance of Bell Pepper varieties. The different varieties used were 1- Sultan F1, 2 - California Wonder, and 3 - Emperor F1 while the different organic fertilizers used were as follows; 0- No control, 1 - Chicken manure, 2 - Cattle manure, and 3 - Goat manure. Analysis of variance in split design at 0.05 and 0.01 levels of significance was used to compare the differences of all the data gathered. Further, Tukey’s Honest Significant Difference test was used for the comparison among treatment means. All statistical analysis were generated using RStudio Statistical Software v. 2023. Results showed that the varietal performance of Bell peppers, the Sultan F1, California Wonder, and Emperor F1 were the most adaptable varieties in the locality and recommended for planting under the climatic conditions of La Union. While on the organic fertilizers, chicken manure is the most recommended because it produced the highest yield. The growth increment of Guyabano trees during the conduct of the experiment also gathered to analyze if there’s an effect intercropped with Bell pepper. The results did not cause an inhibitory effect on the growth of guyabano trees. The climatological data during the conduct of the experiment was found favorable for the growth of Bell Pepper intercropped with guyabano trees as applied with organic fertilizers. The correlation between relative humidity and A1 B0 and relative humidity between A1 B2 was found to have a significant strong positive relationship, while the other treatments obtained no significant relationship. | |
