Abstract
The study was conducted to compare the difference in the spatial distribution, phenology and germination of prickly and smooth narra at DMMMSU-NLUC Bacnotan, La Union. The data on the spatial distribution of narra trees at one kilometer radius from the Beinvinido P. Agpaoa Agroforestry building was taken by means of gathering their geographic coordinates using the Global Positioning System (GPS) device. Eight plus trees of narra were chosen for the phenological observation in terms of their length of flowering and fruiting. Two narra trees representing each species of narra in different cardinal direction were subjected to germination. The treatment combinations were the following; S1D1-Smooth Narra in Northeast Direction S2D1-Prickly Narra in Northeast Direction S1D2-Smooth Narra in Southeast Direction S2D2-Prickly Narra in Southeast Direction S1D3-Smooth Narra in Northwest Direction S2D3-Prickly Narra in Northwest Direction S1D4-Smooth Narra in Southwest Direction S2D4-Prickly Narra in Southwest Direction The result of this study shows that there was an approximate of 167 narra trees at one kilometer radius from the BPAA building. The study also showed that Species in northeast direction has the earliest to production of flowers and fruiting period. But species in southwest direction showed the highest germination percentage compared to other species in other cardinal direction. In addition, correlation analysis showed that there was very high positive correlation between temperature with flowering and fruiting.
