The study was conducted to determine the performance of broiler supplemented with different levels of pelletized sweet potato leaves (PSPL). Sixty-day-old (60) broiler chicks were randomly distributed into four groups, with three replicate cages with five birds in each experimental unit. Treatments were as follows: control diet T0=100 % Broiler Starter Crumble (BSC) was commercial broiler whereas other diets contained T1= (10% Pelletized Sweet Potato Leaves (PSPL + 90% BSC, T2= (15% PSPL + 85% BSC), T3= (20% PSPL+ 80% BSC). Feed and water were supplied on an ad libitum basis.
Throughout the study, proper bio-security measures were taken during the experimental period. Results of the study revealed no significant effect was observed in gain weight, final weight, dressing percentage, feed consumption, and cost of feed to gain a kilogram of weight. Significant effect was observed in the FCR of the birds which was supplied with 20% PSPL at (P <0.05). The profit above feed, medicine and stock cost of birds fed with T0, T1, T2 and T3 were ₱74.90, ₱70.37, ₱6.08, and ₱69.07, respectively. The present study revealed that selling live weights birds fed with 20% PSPL was significantly profitable.
Thus, supplementation of 20% PSPL compensated the broiler’s final weight, gain weight, and feed conversion ratio.
