Abstract
The rising cost of feed, which constitutes over 70% of expenses in intensive -poultry farming, poses a major challenge. This study evaluated the growth performance and profitability of broilers fed with fermented taro tuber meal, a nutrient-rich alternative
feed ingredient. Sixty 14-day-old broiler chicks were assigned to four treatments: a control group (100% commercial feed) and three treatments with 15% (T1), 20% (T2), and 25% (T3) fermented taro tuber meal. Using a Randomized Complete Block Design
(RCBD). Results indicated significant difference in final weight, weight gain, and profitability, favoring the 25% inclusion rate. Dressing percentage, feed consumption, and feed conversion ratio were comparable across groups, while weights of gizzard, liver,
breast, wings, thigh, and drumstick were not significantly affected. The findings suggest that fermented taro tuber meal can enhance profitability without compromising performance.
