Peanut production is one source of income in the Philippines particularly in Ilocos Region and Cagayan Valley. Due to the high demand of peanut , application of different rates of CaNO3 was tested. A calcium nitrate is a fertilizer made up of two nutrients that help a plant for its growth and development and provide good effects like preventing "pops" in peanut and enhance root nodulation. The rates of calcium nitrates used in the study were 250g, 350g, 450g per linear meter. And the control (no CaNO3 application) It was conducted at the Agricultural technology center Farm Of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – North La Union Campus Bacnotan La Union from November 21, 2014 to February 23 2015 employing the RCBD in three blocks and four treatments. The application of 350 and 450 g CaNO3 per linear meter have registered higher shelling percentage (81.33%) and heaviest weight of 100 seeds (71.17 - 73.23) However there no marked differences were noted on the weight pod yield (fresh and dried), number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, plant height and number of days to maturity.
