dc.description.abstractA descriptive research survey design was employed with the aid of questionnaire. The gathering of data was supplemented by actual interview of the respondents. The data were drawn from twenty-five (25) respondents. Such data was analyzed using frequency counts, averages, percentage, weighted mean and correlation analysis as the statistical tools. Results indicated that the basi producers are on the average of 52 years old, engaged in the industry for (9) years and mostly married males. Most of them had elementary education and few had College education graduate and undertook vocational courses. They started the basi business with their own savings. The production cycle of basi had only one cycle annually. They harvest at the month of mid-November to December as part of the quality control and high of the water content of the sugarcane juice. The production of basi was sold mostly to the retailer walk-in buyers within the locality. With Php 160,933.00 expenses, about Php 38,420.00 was generated as income or 23.87% ROI. The inadequacy of capital was considered a very serious problem by the respondents while competition was considered a serious problem. Among the factors assumed to have effects on income, only educational attainment was found to have no significant influence. The other factors such as age and number of years of operation had significant influence.
