The hight cost of feeds have prompted poultry raisers to look for cheaper but highly nutritive source as feed extender. Hence,This study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers fed with different levels of dried purslane meal as feed extender. It was conducted at the backyard of Starshine Boarding House Barangay Casiaman, Bacnotan, La Union from December 2014 to January 2015. Using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), sixty (60) 14-days old chicks were randomly distributed in to four treatments replicated three times. The result of the study revealed that the final weight, gain in weight and profit above feed and medicine cost of birds fed with 20% and 30% purslane meal were comparable to birds fed with pure broiler starter mash. However, birds fed with 40% purslane had significantly lower final weight, gain in weight and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost. On the other hand, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio, revealed an insignificant result.
