Abstract
ron supplementation is vital to the life of piglets. However, this entails additional expense in pig raising. This study was conducted to determine the performance of piglets as affected by different kinds of iron supplement, (T₁-Iron Dextran, T₂-Malunggay Leaf Extract, T₃-Ferrous Sulphate, and to assess the profit above feed, iron supplement and stock cost at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University Piggery Project, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union from November 16, 2010 to January 26, 2011. Twenty-two (22) piglets were distributed into three treatments with three blocks using the Randomized Complete Block Design. Results showed that the performance of piglets in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption and feed conversion except profit above feed, medicine and stock cost were significantly affecting by the different kinds of iron supplements. The final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio were significantly influenced by the different kinds of iron supplement.
