dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to determine the effect of different rooting materials on the rooting performance of 2 different diameters of "Bongon" Broussonetia luzonica stem cuttings as to number of roots and length of roots 90 days after planting. It was conducted at Pinmilapil Sison, Pangasinan from May 16, 2004 to August 14, 2004. Four different rooting materials were used such as Water, ANAA, Vinegar and Ricewash. These were applied to a total of 144 "Bongon" stem cutting, 72 stem cutting had a diameter of 1-1.5 em and the other 72 stem cuttings has a diameter of 2.5 - 3 cm. The research design used was the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), two factorial. Results showed that the different treatments did not affect the rooting performance of Broussonetia luzonica stem cutting in terms of number and length of roots produced. However, Broussonetia luzonica stem cuttings with a diameter of 2.5 - 3 (D2) performed better by having significantly higher number of roots produced but performed similarly as to the length of roots produced 90 days after planting.
