Abstract
Using herbal medicine instead of commercial antibiotics is encouraged to reduce cost of production/hence, this study on the use of five different herbal decoctions (oregano, lagundi and lemon grass) at the level of 20ml per liter of water was conducted. A total of 75 heads 14-day old broiler chicks were used and distributed in six treatments following RCBD in three blocks. The study was conducted from February 22, 2017 to March 29, 2017 at Brgy. Casiaman, Bacnotan, La Union. The result of the study showed that the performance of birds supplemented with 20ml herbal decoctions (oregano, lagundi and lemon grass) in the drinking water were all comparable to those birds given pure water and commercial antibiotics in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost but the water consumption revealed significant result.
