Abstract
This research focused on the Academic Performance and Achievement Motivation of students from farming and fishing Families. The study made use of descriptive research design, and total enumeration sampling technique was used to determine the respondents which are the incoming 2nd year college to fourth year students from the Institute of Agriculture and Institute of Fisheries who belong to farming and fishing families. An adopted questionnaire from a Context Measure of Achievement Motivation: Significance for research in Counseling. The result were: Students of Institute of Agriculture from farming families with high level of Achievement Motivation have a low level of Academic Performance while the students of Institute of Fisheries from fishing families have an average level of Achievement Motivation and has the same level of Academic Performance with studentsfromfarming families; therefore, Achievement Motivation has no significant difference to their Academic Performance.
