dc.description.abstractThis study was designed to gather to perceptions of the residents of Barangay San Eugenio Aringay La Union regarding the merging of Agoo and Aringay municipalities towards cityhood. The respondents of the study were students, workers, barangay officials, and senior citizens residents of Barangay San Eugenio, the largest barangay of Aringay La Union. The researchers used questionnaires, survey materials, and interviews to determine the perception and the awareness of the respondents. The researchers applied Frequency Count and Descriptive Statistical Analysis to come up with the needed information and/ or percentages. The study found out that most of the respondents are aware on the merging yet most of them disagreed to concretize this plan of the local government. Thus, the researchers conducted art interview to get the reason of the respondents regarding their agreement and disagreement. Based on the results, this study proposes to conduct a seminar/ a meeting/publication to discuss the effects, advantages and disadvantages of the merging.
