Abstract
Garlic(Allium sativum Lin.) locally known as "bawang" has a great potential for commercial production because of its ease of culture and high nutritional value as well as use in medicine. This is widely grown in the Ilocos Region and other area with high demand and market value. This study aimed to identify fungal diseases associated with garlic at the DMMMSU-NLUC condition from November 13, 2021 to February 24, 2022.The field part of study was conducted at the College of Agriculture, DMMMSU NLUC while the laboratory part was performed at the Mulberry and Silkworm Pest Laboratory of the DMMMSU-SRDI. The fungal pathogens found associated with garlic at DMMMSU-NLUC condition were Curvularia sp. and Fusarium sp. In 85 DAP (Area 1) had the highest incidence of Curvularia sp. (60.23%), and at the same time was recorded the highest incidence of Fusarium sp. (70.23%). The highest severity index rating of 5 (85 DAP), with 75.40% was Curvularia sp., and Fusarium sp. had 25.13%. Similar studies should be conducted at a different location in La Union.
